SPRING AND AUTUMN CRUISES ON THE CALEDONIAN CANAL.
Organised by: Brightwater Holidays ABTOT5001 ABTA4498 lord of the glens CRUISE.jpg
Dates: October and November 2010; March 2011.
Description: From £555 per person.

Our four-night cruise aboard the luxurious MV Lord of the Glens takes in a complete transit of the Caledonian Canal from Inverness to Banavie in the shadow of Ben Nevis.
These are wonderful seasons to make this classic Scottish journey, with the first fresh greens of spring and golden autumn colours reflected in the lochs. The Caledonian Canal is a combination of natural and man-made waterways that include Lochs Dochfour, Ness, Oich and Lochy. Our modern vessel commences its voyage in Inverness and the first man-made section of the Canal before entering Loch Ness. This provides some of the most memorable scenery of the journey, with Urquhart Castle offering the perfect photo opportunity. At Fort Augustus the vessel is lifted by a series of six locks that lead to Loch Oich and onwards to Banavie. Here we see Neptune’s Staircase, a series of eight locks that take vessels back to sea-level near Fort William where the voyage concludes. There is also a full programme of shore excursions including a steam-hauled train journey at Aviemore and visits to a distillery.

Departure points for this cruise are Inverness station and Inverness airport.
Also available is our Lord Of The Glens cruise, taking in Oban and Mull, from £665 per person.
