| Scottish Voice and Acoustic Guitar may sound like the title of a course at RSAMD, but is actually the latest album from Ross Kennedy, formerly of The Tannahill Weavers, Iron Horse, and now Canterach.
Here Ross offers a baker's dozen of traditional and not so traditional tracks ("The Shipyard Apprentice" and his own "Farewell To Glasgow" among the latter) all rendered with verve, clarity, conviction and integrity.
Aficionados of traditional ballads will enjoy "The Bonnie Earl O' Moray" and fans of top-rate guitar playing will also like this whole CD a lot. |
