| "The Celtic Collection" and "Piping All Over the World" are two double-CD collections to celebrate KRL's 30 years in the business of issuing Scottish music on record, cassette and CD. As a result the canvas is broad, being one (or rather, two) of those albums where one can almost say, "never mind the music, feel the line-up".
The Celtic discs feature (among many others!) Old Blind Dogs, Coila, Canterach, Iron Horse, Wendy Weatherby and Gaberlunzie. The piping CDs range from Oban Pipe band to Victoria Police, The National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland to Western Australia Police.
And as you can imagine the artistry, innovation, and sheer musicianship that went into all that, you can see (or hear) there's an awful lot more to these collections than just "file under Celtic"! |
