The Big Escape – Edinburgh.

 

The Big Escape LIVE 

Edinburgh, October 3

The Big Escape is a citywide escape game played on smartphones. This month it’s coming to Edinburgh for a live event. Join a fictional team of criminal masterminds and help them pull off a heist. Using the GPS on your smartphone, you will follow the story and grab your loot. Once the loot is in hand, you have 15 minutes to escape the city without getting caught. In your group, you will race around cracking codes, solving puzzles and completing challenges. If you’re a fan of the popular Escape Rooms experience, you’ll love this!

Paint ‘N’ Sip – Islay 

Stirling, October 9

Made in Stirling’s Paint ‘n’ Sip workshops have returned! In this particular class, you will learn how to paint sections of the isle of Islay, with full step-by-step instruction and all materials provided. You can bring a bottle of whatever you fancy. The class is following government Covid-19 guidelines with small class sizes and strict hygiene measures in place, including facemasks. However, if you prefer, you can also attend the class from home via Zoom, wineglass and paintbrush in hand.

Wigtown Book Festival

Wigtown, Sept 25 – Oct 4 

If you love books, this is the festival for you! Wigtown is Scotland’s national book town, with more than a dozen bookshops and book-related businesses – including Scotland’s second-largest secondhand bookshop! This year, Wigtown Book Festival will take place online and will have two main themes: Resilience and Connection. The Resilience theme will explore the explosion of creativity that has emerged in response to Covid-19. Connection will celebrate Wigtown and its international links with other Book Towns around the world. As well as live online speaker events, the 2020 festival will feature its usual mix of art exhibitions, film events, music and performance.
