Pinkie Cleugh

Enjoy a spectacular weekend of events in the parkland of Newhailes Estate in hour of the Battle of Pinkie, the biggest battle ever to take place on Scottish soil. Expect reenactments, family activities and stalls.

Nairn Book and Arts

Louise Welsh, Alan Bisset and Malachy Tallack are just some of the literatti attending this year’s Nairn Book and Arts Festival. It runs until September 17, so click here for event info and tickets.

Lammermuir Festival

For classical delights from a host of international artists that includes Stephen Osborne, John Butt and the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, head to the Lammermuir Festival across East Lothian from September 15 – 24.

Blairgowrie & Perth Walking Fest

Fingers crossed the weather holds for the weekend, because its the Blairgowrie and Perth Walking Festival! Sign up on their website for guided walks throughout the region, taking in parts of the Cateran Trail, the Lairig Ghru and more.

Gateway To The North

This fascinating exhibition at the Maritime Museum, Aberdeen presents the early history of Aberdeen harbour from 1136 – 1660. The exhibition is on until the end of September, and is free to enter.

Dundee Open Doors

All sorts of doors are opening in Dundee on Saturday, Sept 16, and Sunday, Sept 17. Meet the curators at the McManus Art Gallery and Museum, get tours of our publishing house DC Thomson, and more!

Islay Jazz

The Lagavulin Jazz Festival echoes across Islay between Friday, Sept 15, and Sunday, Sept 17, so hop on the ferry over there for toe-tapping concerts and gigs – some even inside the distilleries!
