We’re joining World Whisky Day founder Blair Bowman for a record-breaking distillery dash!
On Monday, May 15, Blair Bowman and an intrepid crew will attempt to visit a record-breaking 60 whisky distilleries across Scotland in one day.
Our Great Whisky Distillery Challenge will start at Balblair Distillery in Ross-shire and finish around 17 hours later at Aberfeldy Distillery in Perthshire. A bottle will be collected from many of the distilleries for a charity raffle, with all proceeds going to international water aid charity, Just A Drop.
“It’s going to be a fantastic event,” said Blair. “As far as we are aware, no-one has attempted to set a record like this before and, despite meticulous planning, there is always a risk that we might not get to all 60 of the distilleries on the day. We can’t afford for a single thing to go wrong. It just needs a few tractors or caravans to hold us up and we will be under pressure.”
Follow The Journey
From our initial departure at 5 am until the final reception around midnight, we’ll be live-tweeting our progress. You can see the list of distilleries we plan to visit on the right.

You could also win one of two 4-day whisky tour for two to Speyside from Scottish Routes, and ten copies of The Pocket Guide To Whisky by Blair Bowman & Nikki Welch.
Each entry costs just £1 – all you need to do is click here to get started. The draw takes place on 2 June 2017.
