Scone Palace Crowned Top Rural Tourist Destination

Scone Palace - Scotland's Top Rural Tourism Destination

Scone Palace scooped a top accolade at the annual Countryside Alliance Awards this weekend when it was named Top Rural Tourist Destination.

The crowning place of The Kings of Scots, the popular visitor attraction fought off stiff competition from 18 other Scottish rural destinations to take the title. “We are absolutely delighted,” said Sarah Butler, Chief Executive for Scone Palace.

“Scone Palace and its grounds attract well over 100,000 visitors every year, as well as the tens of thousands of visitors who attend major events held on the estate such as Rewind Festival and The Scottish Game Fair.

‘A key Scottish tourist destination’

“We are always striving to improve our visitor experience and this Award recognizes the strong contribution Scone Palace makes as a visitor attraction, as a local employer and in putting Perthshire on the map as a key Scottish tourist destination.

“This is a real achievement for the team at Scone Palace, who all work very hard to ensure that everyone gets a warm welcome and an unforgettable experience.”

The Scone Palace team were joined in their celebrations on the night by fellow Perthshire visitor attraction, The Scottish Crannog, who came highly commended in the same category.
