Berghaus Extrem Nunat Jacket Review

THIS down-filled jacket has been ever-present in my pack is winter.

It compresses to a tiny size and weighs less than half a kilo. With a cracking cold start to the season, this has seen plenty of varied use already.

I like it best as a belay jacket – and boy is it warm. It has aluminium mesh panels that reflect heat back to you.

I’ve been totally snug tied to a ledge in the Cairngorm corries in sub-zero weather. It’s also light and flexible enough for actually climbing in too. “Hydrodown” (treated down) means water is no great issue – it retains heat when damp, reportedly for 16hrs. I do confess I haven’t attempted that long in the wet!

Great deep pockets too. Really can’t fault this bit of kit.
