Discover The Best of the West!

Enjoying the music at Best of the West

The Best of the West Festival is a family-friendly foodie and music festival which takes place in Inveraray Castle on September 12/13.

Organised by the Duchess of Argyll, Best of the West is a two-day celebration of the best of local food, drink and music from the West of Scotland. Visitors can expect live music from likes of Skerryvore, Skipinnish, Peatbog Faeries and many more, with performances in both English and Gaelic, and over 120 home-grown bands on the bill. The festival has a strong focus on young talent and the best established performers – there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Mouth-watering masterclasses celebrating Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink

The foodie side of the festival attracts droves of visitors from Scotland and beyond. This year, Thai cookery expert Edii Scott will be serving up mouth-watering masterclasses celebrating Scotland’s Year of Food and Drink by fusing Thai cooking with Scottish dishes. Other chefs taking part include Graeme Cheevers, head chef at Martin Wishart at Loch Lomond, and top French chef Eric Lionnet, Head Chef at George Hotel Inveraray.

There will be a number of other cooking demonstrations from local celebrity chefs, the Loch Fyne Whisky marquee will be making a welcome return, while stalls featuring favourites from the finest Scottish larder will dot the grounds.

And as an added bonus, free family activities will keep the kids entertained at this boutique family festival.
