Christmas with Gladstone

Gladstone’s Land, the historic Old Town tenement in Edinburgh, is inviting visitors to enjoy storytelling and craft workshops followed by the chance to fly one of the owls in the courtyard. The festivities are on every morning,10am-12.30pm, until Dec 24. Email here to book.

High Art

The Society of Scottish Artists have their annual exhibit running from December 21 in the Scottish National Gallery. 1,254 artworks were submitted for consideration and of these, 236 works have been selected for display. Artists’ bespoke Christmas decorations are on sale, too, for visitors chance to pick up something truly special.

19th-century Style

On Sunday, December 20, visitors to Blair Castle can see it decked out in all its splendour as it would have been in the Victorian era. Traditional 19th-century decorations will be in place, and a 3-course lunch will be served in the historic ballroom. Click here for prices.

MacFloyd

Pink Floyd’s sensational Scottish tribute act are playing Aberdeen’s Lemon Tree on Friday, December 18. The tour celebrates the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd’s iconice album “Wish you were here” so you can expect great covers and an even better atmosphere.

Finding Neverland

Eden Court’s diverse and colourful Winter Exhibition runs until December 31. The theme this year is “Finding Neverland” with echoes of Peter Pan while showcasing work depicting the magical beauty of the Highlands.

Texas Live!

Our April cover star, Sharleen Spiteri, has taken Texas on tour to celebrate their 25th anniversary, playing their biggest hits from throughout their career. Tickets are still available for Glasgow’s SECC on Friday, December 18, and Aberdeen’s AECC on Saturday, December 19. 

Alan Frew Live

The contemporary folk/pop artist from Troon has been compared to Newton Faulkner and Jack Johnson, and is appearing in the Market Bar, Inverness for an intimate gig on Monday, December 21.

Pop-up Christmas

On Friday, December 18, and Saturday, 19, Dundee’s Steeple Church hosts a Pop Up Christmas event with a prosecco bar, dinner and live DJ. A percentage of ticket sales goes to local charity, Total Recall Choir, too, so there’s no excuse not to head along!

The Great Santa Run!

Aviemore is hosting a Santa Run on Saturday, December 19 to raising money for Disability Snowsport UK. You can race 1 mile or 5k dressed as Santa for a minimal entry fee (which includes the Santa suit!) – or simply go along to support the runners. 

Street of Light

This week sees your your last chance to see Edinbrugh’s Street of Light this week as it closes on December 24. Taking over part of the Royal Mile, the choreographed light and music show is a truly magical affair.
