Celebrate the 50th anniversary of Jim Clark’s greatest racing season with a stunning line up . . .

The Jim Clark Weekend will take place in Duns in the Borders, on Sat 16 and Sun 17 May, with an incredible line up of classic Formula One cars and sports cars.

Also in attendance will be triple Formula One Champion, Sir Jackie Stewart and triple Le Mans 24HR-winner Allan McNish who join the celebrations to raise awareness of plans for a new Jim Clark Museum.

The £1.2m redevelopment of the existing Jim Clark Museum by 2018 was announced in February through a partnership between Scottish Boders Council and The Jim Clark Trust.

“This will be a unique celebration of Jimmy’s most successful racing season”

In 1965 Jim Clark won his second Formula One World Championship, the famous Indianapolis 500, Formula 2 Championshuip and Tasman Championship, and many of his cars from Team Lotus will be on display over the weekend.

“By demonstrating the cars he drove during that year we’ll be bringing the sight and sound of these fabulous racing cars to Duns,” said Alan Morgan, Chairman of Club Lotus. “Everyone is welcome.”

Sir Jackie Stewart will make an appearance on Sunday 17, as Honorary President of The Jim Clark Trust, but also has one of Jim’s friends.

“Jim, who was a great friend, projected Scotland and the Borders of Scotland in a dignified fashion around the world, during his motor racing career. I am also very proud to be Honorary President of the Jim Clark Trust and a Patron of this justifiably important statement to be made to attract people to Duns and the Border region, to celebrate the life of Jim Clark.”
